Where did time go to? I can’t believe a fortnight has gone by and again, it is time for me to write for my favorite blog in the world!
I’ve been busy…preparing for my monthly CATS in school, working, looking forward to my baby’s school mid-term break (began yesterday afternoon – how I had missed her!) and of course catching up on my all time favorite occupation – all things Naija! There is so much excitement in the air and Nairobi City is buzzing with sheer excitement and anticipation for a great Friday (25th February). The reason: the AMA Awards Nomination ceremony is happening right here and for some of us Naija fixation weirdos (as some of my friends are calling me now) feel like we have just won a billion dollars lottery! The ceremony will be star packed with the likes of Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde (*my favorite*), Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji (classy), Aki & Paw Paw, Desmond Elliot (*my 14 year old daughter thinks you are so CUTE and I totally agree), Jackie Appiah, Majid Michel, Bond Emeruwa, Kate Henshaw-Nuttal (just the mention of her name my heart misses a beat), Ramsey Nouah (mmmh), Segun Arinze(oh my – may I have the privilege of having dinner with you on Sunday night?), and Mercy Johnson (still trying to make up my mind about you gal).
Unfrtunately, I have been mourning over my dilemma of not being able to get a ticket for the nominations because they are all run out… talk about the dangers of procrastination. Even since hearing about the event on Monday evening while driving home from work, I’ve put off getting myself a ticket and right now I feel like I can shoot myself on the leg. I mean how possible is it that the greatest night event will be taking place at Ole-Sereni Hotel which is a stone throw away from my office and I get to miss it and people, this is just not any other event…this is the *EVENT*! How can I miss out on the opportunity of rubbing shoulders with such a star roll-call? What kind of wahala is this now? It is absolutely criminal and a sin if I don’t attend that event (according to K-Naija sista gospel)! I know there is the after party scheduled for Saturday night but I’m not a party animal and crowds on a serious note, scare me. The “Nairobi Rocks the Stars” concert will certainly be interesting considering the stars performing that night including my all-time Naija favorites P-Square! So I will leave this to the party animals and go back to my making calls and demanding favors to be returned for that very elusive ticket! Do I have a plan B just in case I don’t get a ticket for the nominations ceremony? Yes oo, gate-crash!
Until next time I remain yours truly,
CEO, Kivuli Holidays and Conferences
